Healthy Heart
A healthy spiritual life begins with a healthy heart. The condition of our hearts affects our thoughts, attitudes, relationships, decisions, and response to God. A heart filled with faith, love, humility, and forgiveness becomes a healthy environment for God’s Word to produce fruit. God is concerned not only with what we do outwardly but also with what is taking place within us.
We must therefore guard our hearts from bitterness, pride, jealousy, unforgiveness, and wrong desires. The Bible says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23). What is allowed to remain in the heart will eventually influence the way we live.
Living Out Healthy Heart
To maintain a healthy heart, we must intentionally allow God to examine and transform us. This means:
- Guarding our thoughts and attitudes.
- Walking in forgiveness and love toward others.
- Rejecting bitterness, pride, and unhealthy desires.
- Allowing God’s Word to continually renew our hearts.
A healthy heart does not mean a perfect life; it means a heart that remains surrendered and responsive to God. When we allow Him to cleanse our hearts, we become more sensitive to His voice and better able to reflect Christ.
May God give us clean hearts, right motives, and the grace to live from a place of genuine love and obedience.
