Total Abandonment
Total abandonment is the complete surrender of our lives, plans, desires, and ambitions to God. It means reaching a place where we no longer want to control every outcome but are willing to trust God’s wisdom above our own. True surrender allows God to shape our lives according to His purpose and use us beyond our personal limitations.
Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23). Abandonment requires us to lay down selfish desires and become fully available to God. It is not weakness; it is a deliberate decision to trust the One who knows what is best.
Living Out Total Abandonment
To walk in total abandonment, we must intentionally surrender every area of our lives to God. This means:
- Giving God control over our plans and ambitions.
- Choosing obedience even when it is uncomfortable.
- Letting go of fear, pride, and the need for control.
- Trusting God’s purpose even when we cannot see the full picture.
When we fully surrender to God, He can work through us without the limitations created by self-will. Abandonment creates room for divine direction, transformation, and greater usefulness in God’s hands.
May we receive the grace to surrender completely, trust deeply, and follow Christ wherever He leads us.
